Children's Home Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Children’s Home Manager to lead the launch and development of a new therapeutic children’s home in Northumberland. This full‑time, permanent position offers the chance to shape a nurturing environment and drive outstanding outcomes for vulnerable children.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the registration, opening and ongoing development of the home.
• Ensure full compliance with OFSTED regulations and Children’s Homes Quality Standards.
• Recruit, lead, coach and develop a high‑performing residential team.
• Establish a positive therapeutic culture focused on outstanding outcomes for children.
• Manage budgets, staffing, safeguarding procedures and quality assurance processes.
• Build effective relationships with local authorities, families and partner agencies.
• Drive continuous improvement and work towards achieving an ‘Outstanding’ OFSTED rating.

Required profile

• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
• Proven experience as a Registered Manager, Deputy Manager or senior leader in a residential children’s setting.
• Strong understanding of OFSTED regulations, safeguarding and Children’s Homes Standards.
• Demonstrated leadership and team development capabilities.
• Passion for improving outcomes for vulnerable children and young people.
• Full UK driving licence.
