Children's Home Manager – New Therapeutic Home

About the role

This permanent, full‑time position leads the launch and development of a brand‑new therapeutic children’s home in Northumberland. You will create a safe, nurturing environment that drives outstanding outcomes for vulnerable children and young people.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the registration, opening and ongoing development of the home.
• Ensure full compliance with OFSTED regulations and Children’s Homes Quality Standards.
• Recruit, coach and develop a high‑performing residential team.
• Establish a therapeutic culture focused on exceptional outcomes.
• Manage budgets, staffing, safeguarding and quality assurance processes.
• Build effective relationships with local authorities, families and partner agencies.
• Drive continuous improvement toward an ‘Outstanding’ OFSTED rating.

Required profile

• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
• Proven experience as a Registered Manager, Deputy Manager or senior leader in a children’s residential setting.
• Strong understanding of OFSTED regulations, safeguarding and Children’s Homes Standards.
• Demonstrated leadership and team development abilities.
• Passion for improving outcomes for vulnerable children and young people.
• Full UK driving licence.
