Children's Residential Support Worker – Flexible Shifts

About the role

We are looking for a Children’s Residential Support Worker to provide stable, compassionate care for vulnerable young people in specialised residential settings across Newquay and Bodmin. You will help create a safe environment where children feel valued and supported during periods of instability.

Key responsibilities

• Promote co‑regulation by delivering predictable routines that help dysregulated youth feel secure.
• Manage volatility and diffuse high‑risk behaviours using positive behavioural support frameworks.
• Maintain accurate daily logs and safeguarding records to support multidisciplinary medical teams.
• Provide consistent, reliable presence to ensure children’s safety and wellbeing.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 months of verifiable UK experience in a children’s residential or youth‑care environment.
• Strong personal resilience, clear professional boundaries and a solid understanding of trauma‑informed care.
• Valid UK driving licence and own transport for rural placements.

Required skills

• Positive behavioural support techniques.
• Safeguarding documentation and record‑keeping.
