Children's Social Worker – Children In Care

About the role

Join a forward‑thinking team in Herefordshire dedicated to supporting children looked after by the local authority. As a Children in Care Social Worker you will ensure each child feels safe, valued and has the opportunity to thrive.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a varied caseload of looked‑after children and young people.
• Build strong, relationship‑based connections with children, carers and families.
• Collaborate with professionals, partner agencies and the local authority to achieve the best outcomes.
• Develop and implement care plans in line with the Children Act 1989 and safeguarding frameworks.
• Monitor progress, review risk assessments and adjust support as needed.

Required profile

• Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
• Experience working with children in care or similar teams.
• Strong understanding of the Children Act 1989, care planning and safeguarding.
• Passion for relationship‑based practice and positive outcomes.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
