Children's Social Worker – Disabilities

About the role
This temporary position with a Merseyside council supports children with disabilities and their families. Working within the Children with Disabilities (CWD) team, you will help assess needs, develop care plans and safeguard vulnerable children.
Key responsibilities
- Assess the needs of children with disabilities and their families.
- Develop, review and monitor individual care plans.
- Safeguard children and manage risk in line with statutory guidance.
- Coordinate multi‑agency support, including health, education and voluntary services.
- Advocate for children and families, ensuring their voices are heard.
- Prepare reports, attend meetings and, when required, appear in court.
- Maintain accurate caseload records and provide advice for EHCPs and specialist services.
- Promote equality and anti‑discriminatory practice.
Required profile
- Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
- Minimum three years’ experience as a qualified social worker.
- Commitment to professional development and supervision.
Required skills
- Knowledge of statutory guidance on child safeguarding.
- Experience in multi‑agency collaboration.
- Ability to produce clear written reports.
