Children's Social Worker – Help & Protect (Temporary, Full‑time)

About the role

Join a Greater Manchester council as a Children’s Social Worker within the Help & Protect team. You will work directly with vulnerable children and families, delivering safeguarding interventions and promoting positive outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of children and families, identifying and addressing safeguarding risks.
• Conduct statutory assessments, home visits and direct work to understand needs and strengths.
• Develop, implement and review Help & Protect plans.
• Build effective relationships with children, young people and families, ensuring their voices shape assessments.
• Collaborate with partner agencies and attend multi‑agency meetings, child protection conferences and reviews.
• Maintain accurate, timely case records and reports in line with statutory requirements.

Required profile

• Qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England.
• Minimum of 3 years experience as a qualified social worker.

• No specific technical tools required.
