Children's Social Worker – Integrated Front Door

About the role

Our client Bolton Council is seeking a Children’s Social Worker to join the Integrated Front Door team. You will deliver professional social work services to children, families and partner agencies, ensuring statutory compliance and high‑quality support.

Key responsibilities

• Provide a purposeful, professional duty service to children, families and partner agencies in line with statutory requirements and departmental policies.
• Contribute to planning and development of referral and assessment services for the team and department.
• Assist in organising and administering the post to ensure service delivery.
• Supply management information to support strategy implementation and monitoring.
• Help allocate team workload and provide duty service to office visitors.
• Gather information to determine the need for Section 47 child protection enquiries or family needs assessments.
• Work directly with partner agencies and families, offering advice and guidance using social work knowledge and skills.
• Deliver generic advice and information to all office callers as part of the front‑door duty provision.
• Screen referrals and arrange further assessment services where required.

Required profile

• Successful applicants must undertake an Enhanced Disclosure via the DBS.
• Must be able to fully register with Remedy for locum positions.
