Children's Social Worker – MASH Duty & Advice

About the role

Our client, Oldham Council, is seeking a Children’s Social Worker to join the MASH Duty & Advice team. You will work within a co‑located multi‑agency environment, collaborating with police, health, community safety, adult social care, IDVA and the Prevention Hub to safeguard children and families.

Key responsibilities

• Respond promptly to contacts made to the MASH service.
• Identify and secure the most appropriate support services for children and families.
• Communicate effectively with families, partner agencies and the public to gather information.
• Make evidence‑based decisions in line with statutory duties and practice standards.
• Contribute to multi‑agency case discussions and threshold decision‑making.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of statutory social work functions and safeguarding responsibilities.
• Confidence in making informed threshold decisions.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multi‑agency team.
• Willingness to register fully with Remedy for locum positions and undergo an enhanced DBS check.
