Children's Social Worker – MASH Team (Temporary)

About the role

Our client, a Greater Manchester Council, is looking for a qualified Children’s Social Worker to join their MASH (Multi‑Agency Safeguarding Hub) team on a temporary, full‑time basis. You will play a pivotal part in safeguarding children by assessing referrals and coordinating multi‑agency responses.

Key responsibilities

• Triaging incoming safeguarding referrals and completing initial risk assessments.
• Gathering and analysing information from health, education, police and early‑help partners.
• Applying local threshold guidance to determine appropriate intervention levels (Level 2, 3 or 4, early help, statutory action, or sign‑posting).
• Maintaining accurate, confidential records in line with GDPR and statutory safeguarding procedures.
• Providing safeguarding advice and consultation to multi‑agency professionals.
• Participating in strategy discussions to support coordinated safeguarding responses.
• Ensuring timely decision‑making that prioritises the safety and welfare of children and young people.

Required profile

• Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience working as a qualified social worker.
