Children's Social Worker – Support & Supervision (Fostering)

About the role

This position is with a Yorkshire council’s fostering team, delivering essential support and supervision to approved foster carers. You will help ensure safe, stable, and nurturing placements for children in care while working closely with families and partner agencies.

Key responsibilities

• Provide ongoing support, supervision and guidance to foster carers.
• Conduct regular supervision visits and annual reviews in line with fostering regulations.
• Assess carers’ performance, development needs and training requirements.
• Collaborate with children, families, social workers and agencies to achieve positive outcomes.
• Participate in placement matching, recruitment, training and retention activities.
• Prepare high‑quality assessments, reports, recordings and court‑related documentation within statutory timescales.
• Safeguard children’s welfare and respond to risks and concerns.
• Maintain accurate case records and ensure compliance with legislation and policy.

Required profile

• Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
• Minimum three years’ experience as a qualified social worker.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
