Children's Social Worker – Temporary (3 months)

About the role

We are seeking a Children’s Social Worker to join our dynamic Children Looked After team in Bury for a three‑month fixed‑term contract, with the possibility of extension. The role focuses on supporting looked after children and care leavers up to 18 years old, ensuring their safety and promoting positive outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and review robust care plans and safety plans for looked after children and care leavers.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate interventions and services.
• Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to service strategy development.
• Maintain accurate records and provide a five‑year employment history with explanations for any gaps.
• Engage in continuous professional development related to child protection and welfare.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of care planning and safety planning for looked after children.
• Experience working with children and care leavers up to age 18 is preferred.
• Relevant qualifications as outlined in the Job Description and Person Specification.
• Ability to provide a complete five‑year employment history.
