Children's Support Worker – Flexible Shifts in Cumbria

About the role

We are seeking compassionate Children’s Support Workers to provide dedicated care for young people with learning disabilities, autism and mental health needs across the Cumbria area. The role involves flexible, shift‑based work supporting under‑18s in residential settings in Carlisle, Penrith and Kendal.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver personalised support to children and teenagers with complex needs.
• Assist with daily living activities, therapeutic programmes and educational tasks.
• Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Travel between multiple sites as required, ensuring continuity of care.

Required profile

• Minimum six months experience in a UK children’s residential home.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (highly desirable).
• Enhanced Child & Adult DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one immediately.
• Unrestricted right to work in the UK.

Required skills

• Full driving licence (desirable).
• Enhanced DBS clearance (required).

• Day shift rate £15.35 per hour, Waking Night £16.88 per hour, Sleep shift flat rate £63.04.
