Children's Support Worker – Liverpool (Full‑time, Temporary)

About the role

Randstad Care is looking for dedicated Support Workers and Senior Support Workers to join specialist crisis teams serving children and young people in Liverpool and North Wales. The role involves providing day‑to‑day assistance in residential settings, helping vulnerable children navigate trauma and crisis.

Key responsibilities

• Engage with young people using creative methods to build trust.
• De‑escalate heightened behaviours and maintain a safe environment.
• Support daily activities, appointments and family contact.
• Record accurate daily logs and incident reports to inform long‑term care plans.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 months paid UK care experience, preferably in a residential setting.
• Calm, resilient and non‑judgemental attitude in crisis situations.
• Willingness to obtain or hold PMVA training.
• Current DBS check on the update service or willingness to obtain a new one.

Required skills

• Proven de‑escalation techniques.
• Sound decision‑making in challenging situations.
• Driver’s licence and business insurance (preferred for community activities).
