Children's Support Worker – Salford Crisis Team

About the role

Join a specialist crisis team in Salford to provide day‑to‑day support for vulnerable children and young people living in residential settings. You will help create a safe, nurturing environment while assisting with daily activities, appointments, and family contact.

Key responsibilities

• Engage with young people using trauma‑informed, creative approaches.
• De‑escalate heightened behaviours and maintain a safe environment.
• Record accurate daily logs and incident reports to inform care plans.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 months paid UK care experience, preferably in residential childcare.
• Ability to use de‑escalation techniques and make safe decisions under pressure.
• Calm, resilient, non‑judgemental attitude during crises such as aggression or self‑harm.
• Current DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
• Full UK driving licence with business insurance is desirable.
