Children's Support Worker (Therapeutic Support)

About the role

We are looking for a compassionate Children’s Support Worker to join our community care bank in Hengrove, Bristol. You will work with young people who have complex needs such as autism and trauma, providing calm, stable support in high‑pressure situations.

Key responsibilities

• Encourage independence by assisting with life‑skills, cooking and sensory activities.
• Provide reassurance and de‑escalate challenging episodes, including physical aggression, while remaining calm.
• Complete accurate paperwork and daily safeguarding reports.
• Travel to community settings using your own vehicle and driving licence.
• Deliver consistent, safe and compassionate care to young people across South Bristol and North Somerset.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 months paid experience in UK children or adult services (e.g., Support Worker, Care Assistant, Residential Childcare Worker).
• Reliable, resilient and committed to high standards of safeguarding.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for community travel.
