Children's Support Worker – Youth Complex, Weston-super-Mare

About the role

Randstad Care is seeking compassionate professionals to provide stabilising support for vulnerable children experiencing care breakdowns in the North Somerset area. You will deliver person‑centred interventions to young people with complex needs, including autism, PICA and severe emotional challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Promote independent living skills, daily routines and safe community access.
• De‑escalate volatile situations using verbal techniques to manage aggression and self‑harm.
• Maintain accurate, compliant records and tracking charts for safeguarding.
• Provide specialised support in crisis‑response environments.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 months paid care experience in a UK residential or youth setting.
• Strong emotional intelligence, professional boundaries and a trauma‑informed approach.
• Valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential for rural placements).
