Children's Team Manager – Young Persons

About the role

The Children’s Team Manager will lead a dedicated team of practitioners supporting young people and their families within a Merseyside council. This full‑time, temporary position offers a competitive daily rate and the chance to make a tangible difference in the community.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, supervise and support a team delivering services to young people and families.
• Oversee complex cases, ensuring effective assessment, planning and intervention.
• Identify and respond to safeguarding concerns, promoting welfare and safety.
• Monitor team performance, quality of practice and statutory compliance.
• Chair multi‑agency meetings and collaborate with partner organisations.
• Provide staff development through supervision, performance management and reflective practice.
• Manage resources to deliver a high‑quality, responsive service.
• Drive continuous improvement and contribute to service development initiatives.

Required profile

• Qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England.
• Minimum of 3 years experience as a qualified social worker.
