Chiller Service Engineer – Field Service & Maintenance

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Chiller Service Engineer to join our Birmingham‑based team. The role involves field‑based service and maintenance of process and comfort cooling systems across industrial and commercial sites within a 70‑mile radius, providing 24/7 breakdown cover when required.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose faults and repair process and comfort cooling systems, from small chillers to large industrial plants.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and F‑Gas checks.
• Perform commissioning, re‑commissioning and remedial work, keeping customers informed.
• Complete service reports and maintain accurate job records.
• Participate in an on‑call rota for out‑of‑hours support and assist teammates as needed.

Required profile

• Valid F‑Gas Category 1 certification.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Proven experience with chillers or industrial refrigeration plant and strong diagnostic ability.
• Reliable, customer‑focused attitude and willingness to support the team.

Required skills

• Electrical qualifications (17th/18th Edition) – desirable.
• Experience with glycol systems, water chillers or heat pumps.
• Knowledge of process cooling in a manufacturing environment.
• IPAF, PASMA or CSCS certification – advantageous.
