Civil Engineer – Residential Development

About the role

We are partnering with a multi‑award‑winning housebuilder in the West Country to hire a Civil Engineer to join their Engineering team in Gloucester. This full‑time position is ideal for an early‑career professional with at least six months of experience who wants to develop expertise across the full lifecycle of residential development projects.

Key responsibilities

• Produce detailed engineering drawings and designs for planning applications, water‑company and highway authority submissions, tender packages and construction completion.
• Deliver solutions across civil disciplines such as Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS), new and existing road infrastructure, house foundations and remediation schemes.
• Respond to engineering queries during construction, provide on‑site inspections and support health‑ and‑safety compliance.

Required profile

• Methodical, practical approach with strong attention to detail and a desire to expand technical knowledge.
• Experience working for a housebuilder or engineering consultancy, or within a construction/property development environment.
• Familiarity with civil‑engineering design software such as InfoDrainage or Site 3D, and an understanding of residential infrastructure, drainage or highways design.
