Civil Engineer – Woodland Creation

About the role

Join the UK's largest land manager to deliver civil engineering and infrastructure projects that enable woodland creation across Central and North England. You will own projects from concept through to completion, working on forest roads, bridges, reservoirs and visitor facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Managing the delivery of civil engineering and infrastructure projects across the Central England / North Districts
• Supporting woodland creation programmes through the design and delivery of enabling infrastructure
• Overseeing contractors and ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently and to specification
• Carrying out inspections and assessments of civil engineering assets
• Producing and reviewing specifications, designs and technical documentation
• Managing contracts and supporting procurement activities
• Working closely with colleagues, consultants and contractors to deliver successful outcomes
• Helping drive sustainable, low‑carbon engineering solutions across the estate

Required profile

• HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering
• Experience delivering civil engineering or infrastructure projects
• Knowledge of contract administration and contractor management
• Understanding of CDM regulations and construction safety requirements
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Practical, proactive approach to problem‑solving
