Civil Structural Project Manager – £50‑£60/hr (Hybrid)

About the role

We are supporting a major public‑sector organisation in Merseyside to lead the planning and delivery of civil and structural projects across a £2.5 billion infrastructure portfolio. The role will manage assets such as the Mersey Tunnels, ferry terminals, bus depots and operational hubs, working within an Asset Management team on a hybrid basis.

Key responsibilities

• Lead structural and civil engineering projects across a varied asset portfolio.
• Review condition surveys and technical reports to develop detailed project scopes.
• Manage consultants, contractors and key stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
• Oversee project delivery, ensuring works are completed safely, on time and within budget.
• Coordinate planning, design and construction activities for high‑profile assets.

Required profile

• Qualified Structural Engineer with broad experience in buildings, infrastructure, civil engineering, transportation and public‑realm asset management.
• Experience working on large‑scale public‑sector projects, preferably with local‑government exposure.
• Proactive, able to coordinate multiple stakeholders and apply sound engineering judgement in complex operational environments.
