Civils Project Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Civils Project Manager to lead civil engineering, infrastructure and groundworks projects across the Midlands and South West. The role involves full responsibility for safe, on‑time and profitable delivery from mobilisation to completion, working primarily on‑site with multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end delivery of civil projects, ensuring safety, programme adherence and budget compliance.
• Coordinate site teams, subcontractors, suppliers and specialist contractors across multiple locations.
• Lead project planning, sequencing, resource allocation and develop recovery plans for identified risks.
• Conduct site meetings, toolbox talks and progress reviews, maintaining high quality and safety standards.
• Review engineering drawings, specifications and CAD plans, and oversee setting‑out activities.
• Produce and maintain project programmes using Microsoft Project and monitor costs to achieve margin targets.
• Support preparation of Bills of Quantities, material take‑offs and manage client and stakeholder relationships.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing civil engineering or construction projects.
• Strong commercial awareness with ability to deliver projects profitably.
• Excellent stakeholder and team leadership skills.
• Willingness to work on‑site across the Midlands and South West.

What we offer

• Competitive salary £50,000‑£60,000 per annum.
• 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
• Overtime rates of 1.5x weekdays and 2x weekends/holidays.
