Claims Operations Technician – Entry Level

About the role

We are seeking a Claims Operations Technician to join a leading Lloyd’s syndicate in London. This entry‑level position is ideal for recent school leavers or graduates who wish to start a career in the Lloyd’s/London insurance market.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and implement claims operational support requirements.
• Liaise with brokers, loss adjusters, DXC, TPAs and lawyers.
• Resolve claims processing errors and coordinate outsourced peer‑review and internal claim reviews.
• Prepare and present claims data for monthly and quarterly reporting.
• Participate in internal and external audits.
• Maintain the in‑house claims system and ECF.
• Assist the Claims Operations Manager with due‑diligence, contract preparation and monitoring of proposed TPAs.
• Support day‑to‑day management of delegated claims and oversee third‑party claim handling authority.
• Review and approve claims bordereaux and cash calls.
• Coordinate TPA audits, follow‑up remedial actions and loss fund management.
• Help collate and report Major Loss Ultimates.

Required profile

• Strong academic background – good A‑Levels or equivalent, or a minimum 2:1 degree.
• Interest in developing a career within the Lloyd’s/London market.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Understanding of market dynamics, political and social influences on the business.
• Ability to build relationships with senior partners and peers across the market.
