Claims Team Lead (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking a Claims Team Lead to join a fast‑growing VC‑backed tech company that uses AI to streamline insurance claims processing. The role is fully remote and involves leading, coaching, and developing a small team of claims handlers while staying hands‑on with a personal portfolio of claims.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and line‑manage a team of 4‑5 Claims Handlers.
• Drive performance across quality, productivity and customer satisfaction.
• Allocate workflow and manage team capacity to meet service targets.
• Review claims quality, provide coaching and ensure continuous improvement.
• Maintain oversight of the claims portfolio and proactively escalate risks.
• Personally handle a small set of claims to retain technical expertise.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in claims handling or management.
• Current role as Senior/Complex Claims Handler, Claims Manager or similar.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise independently.
• Comfortable using data to inform decisions.
• Team‑oriented, hardworking and ambitious.
• Experience in leading, mentoring or coaching others is a plus.
