Claims Underwriter, Casualty Lines

About the role

Based in our London office, reporting to the Head of Casualty Claims, you will provide claims adjusting and other claims‑related support functions predominantly to the Cyber Medical Malpractice teams and may also assist with Financial Lines, Professional Indemnity and other casualty lines as required.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with handling of claims within the Casualty Claims division, analysing coverage and quantum within your authority and referring higher‑value cases to the Head of Casualty Claims.
• Review bordereau presentations for agreement and processing.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders such as claims team members, underwriters, reinsurers, actuaries and management.
• Develop relationships with external stakeholders including brokers, loss adjusters, lawyers and TPAs.
• Ensure timely reserving and reporting.
• Maintain compliance with internal guidelines, processes and procedures.
• Attend external client and broker meetings as required.
• Participate in networking events as appropriate.
• Assist with operational tasks as needed.

Required profile

• Proven experience or knowledge of the London insurance market in underwriting, claims or broking.
• Understanding of insurance policies, preferably with cyber and third‑party liability claims handling experience.
• Familiarity with Lloyd’s claims schemes.
• Familiarity with ECF (preferred but not essential).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel.
• Strong analytical skills.
