Class 1 HGV Driver – Full-Time

About the role

Our client, a family‑owned logistics firm based in Ely, is expanding and needs experienced Class 1 HGV drivers to join a modern, well‑maintained fleet. The role involves transporting a variety of loads safely and on time across local, regional and national routes.

Key responsibilities

• Drive Class 1 (C+E) HGVs on scheduled routes, covering tipper, curtain, tanker and ADR loads.
• Perform daily vehicle inspections and report any defects promptly.
• Secure loads according to health and safety guidelines.
• Complete delivery paperwork, logbooks and tachograph records accurately.
• Observe drivers’ hours, speed limits and all road traffic regulations.
• Interact professionally with customers, depot staff and colleagues.
• Maintain a clean and presentable vehicle at all times.

Required profile

• Valid Class 1 (C+E) HGV licence with no more than 6 penalty points.
• Valid Driver CPC card and digital tachograph card.
• At least 1 year of Class 1 HGV driving experience (newly qualified drivers with training commitment are also considered).
• Good knowledge of UK road networks and regulations.
• Strong focus on safety, reliability and punctuality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
