Class 1 HGV Driver – Rochester (Temporary)

About the role

Join Royal Mail’s depot‑to‑depot network as a Class 1 HGV driver in Rochester. This temporary position offers consistent, high‑quality work transporting mail across the UK for the remainder of 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Transport mail between national Royal Mail depots.
• Carry out pre‑trip and post‑trip vehicle checks.
• Follow scheduled routes with precision, including morning, evening and weekend shifts.
• Represent Royal Mail professionally on every run.

Required profile

• Valid HGV Class 1 / C+E licence held for at least 2 years.
• Current CPC and Digital Tachograph card.
• 180 + days of Class 1 driving experience within the last 2 years.
• Maximum of 6 penalty points on licence.
• Ability to pass vetting and DBS checks.

Required skills

• Vehicle safety and inspection procedures.
• Accurate route planning and adherence.
• Professional communication while representing the brand.
