Class 1 Night Trunk Driver

About the role

We are seeking a reliable Class 1 Night Trunk Driver to join our general haulage team in Southampton. The role involves operating articulated HGV Class 1 vehicles on night shifts across the UK, with immediate start and flexible shift times.

Key responsibilities

• Operate HGV Class 1 (C+E) articulated vehicles for general haulage.
• Complete all paperwork and electronic records accurately and keep them up‑to‑date.
• Maintain accurate records of breaks and working hours in line with Working Time Directive regulations.
• Follow agency and client policies, procedures and safety standards.
• Ensure high‑quality work and professional conduct at all times.
• Communicate effectively with customers, clients and operations teams to ensure smooth deliveries and collections.
• Deliver assigned tasks efficiently within required timeframes.

Required profile

• Full UK driving licence.
• Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence.
• DP World Card.
• Digital Tachograph card.
• No more than 6 penalty points on the licence.
• At least 1 year of experience driving HGV Class 1 vehicles.
• Good working knowledge of the UK motorway network and Working Time Directive regulations.

Required skills

• Operation of HGV Class 1 (C+E) vehicles.
• Use of Digital Tachograph equipment.
• Possession of a DP World Card.

• Pay rate from £18.00 to £26.00 per hour.
• Weekly pay with flexible payment options (14‑week, ongoing or ad‑hoc).

• Immediate start with night shifts beginning at 17:00, 18:00, 21:00 or 22:00.
