Class 1 Trunk Driver Nights

About the role

Gregory Distribution Group is seeking a dedicated Class 1 Trunk Driver for night‑shift operations based at its Shepton Mallet depot. You will be responsible for moving palletised freight across the network, primarily between Shepton Mallet and hubs in the West Midlands.

Key responsibilities

• Operate a curtain‑side trailer to transport palletised goods on night shifts (19:00‑close).
• Verify freight against manifests at each depot stop and provide internal trunking support.
• Secure loads using straps, nets and other equipment, ensuring safety and compliance.
• Complete daily vehicle safety checks and maintain communication with the Transport Team.
• Participate in ongoing training, including optional LST and ADR certifications.

Required profile

• Excellent communication and team‑oriented mindset.
• Ability to meet time‑critical deadlines and work flexible night hours.
• Physically fit and self‑motivated.

Required skills

• UK Class 1 (C+E) licence.
• Valid DCPC card.
• Digital tachograph card.
