Class 2 HGV Driver - Cheltenham

About the role

Cotteswold Dairy, one of the UK's leading independent family-owned dairies, is recruiting a Class 2 (Category C) HGV driver for its Cheltenham depot. You will deliver fresh dairy products and associated goods to retail customers across the region in a multi-drop, temperature-controlled environment. The role is 48 hours per week on average, split over 5 shifts per week including night shifts starting typically between 23:00 and 02:00. New pass drivers are welcome and supported.

Key responsibilities

• Safely operate HGV vehicles in line with UK driving laws, Driver CPC and tachograph regulations
• Complete multi-drop deliveries, keeping stock rotating and product quality intact
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report defects promptly
• Load and unload products safely, including manual handling and use of handling equipment
• Follow health and safety, food hygiene and security procedures
• Work independently on the road while maintaining good customer relationships
• Provide cover for colleagues during holidays or absences

Required profile

• Full UK driving licence, Category C essential
• Driver CPC and digital tachograph card
• Physically fit and able to handle goods manually
• Strong communication skills and a customer-first attitude
• Flexibility to work night shifts, weekends and bank holidays
• Newly qualified drivers encouraged to apply, with full training and career development offered

• Salary of 36,519.52 per year plus a driving safety bonus of 20 per week
