Class 2 HGV Driver for Sainsbury’s Local Deliveries

About the role

Join Wincanton Dedicated Grocery to deliver fresh grocery items to Sainsbury’s convenience stores across the Charlton area. You will operate a Class 2 (Category C) vehicle, ensuring timely and safe deliveries while representing both Wincanton and Sainsbury’s to customers.

Key responsibilities

• Operate a Class 2 HGV in line with road safety and company standards.
• Perform multi‑drop deliveries to Sainsbury’s stores and regional distribution centres.
• Unload caged or palletised goods using a tail lift and complete all delivery paperwork accurately.
• Collect empty cages, returns, or agreed waste materials from stores.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and report any defects promptly.
• Provide excellent customer service and act as a professional brand ambassador.
• Comply with tachograph regulations, driver‑hours legislation, and company transport policies.
• Attend mandatory training and keep CPC certification up to date.

Required profile

• Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence.
• Driver CPC qualification and a Digital Tachograph card.
• Minimum 12 months of HGV driving experience.
• Clean driving record (no more than 6 penalty points).
• Physically fit for manual handling tasks.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and bank holidays.
