Class 2 HGV Driver – Wandsworth (London)

About the role
Berry Recruitment is looking for a Class 2 HGV Driver to operate refuse, recycling or food collection vehicles in the Wandsworth area of South West London. The role involves 9‑hour shifts, five days a week, and offers a rate of £19.08 per hour. You will be responsible for safe vehicle operation and maintaining high standards of customer service.
Key responsibilities
- Drive refuse, recycling or food collection trucks on assigned routes.
- Use in‑cab technology and mobile devices to record deliveries and pickups in real time.
- Complete all required paperwork and electronic logs during the shift.
- Perform daily inspections of the vehicle and related machinery before and after use, reporting any issues.
- Keep the vehicle and equipment clean and well‑maintained.
- Maintain excellent relations with customers and the public, addressing any concerns promptly.
- Assist loaders with unloading when staffing levels are low.
Required profile
- Valid Class 2 driving licence.
- Current CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) and tachograph card.
- No more than six penalty points on the driving licence.
