Class 2D Registered Building Inspector – Hybrid (Oxfordshire)

About the role

We are seeking a Class 2D Registered Building Inspector to lead building control projects across Oxfordshire and surrounding areas. You will work within an employee‑owned consultancy, managing your own portfolio while receiving technical support from an experienced team.

Key responsibilities

• Manage building control applications from initial review to completion.
• Assess drawings, specifications and supporting technical information.
• Conduct inspections on residential and commercial developments.
• Advise clients, architects and contractors on Building Regulations compliance.
• Prepare accurate inspection records, reports and regulatory documentation.
• Identify non‑compliance issues and recommend practical solutions.
• Maintain project programmes, workloads and client expectations.
• Collaborate with internal specialists on complex multidisciplinary projects.
• Support junior inspectors and contribute to technical development.

Required profile

• Current registration with the Building Safety Regulator at Class 2D.
• Proven experience managing residential and commercial building control projects.
• Strong knowledge of the Building Act, Building Regulations and Building Safety Act.
• Relevant qualification in building control, surveying, construction or a related discipline.
• Membership of a recognised professional body (CABE, RICS, CIOB, etc.).
• Excellent report‑writing, communication and client‑management skills.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
