Class Teacher – SEND Secondary (Temporary Full‑time)

About the role

We are looking for a passionate and resilient Class Teacher to join our specialist SEND secondary school in South East London. This temporary full‑time position starts in September 2026 and offers the chance to support pupils with complex needs to achieve their personal potential.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver creative, highly differentiated lessons tailored to each pupil’s individual needs.
• Create a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
• Collaborate closely with teaching assistants, therapists, families, and external professionals.
• Assess, monitor, and celebrate progress against EHCP outcomes and personalised targets.
• Support pupils’ communication, emotional regulation, and social development.
• Contribute to the wider life of the school and uphold high expectations for all learners.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Experience teaching secondary‑aged pupils, preferably in a SEND or specialist setting.
• Strong understanding of complex learning needs and inclusive teaching strategies.
• Patience, adaptability, and commitment to achieving the best outcomes for every child.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
