Classroom Assistant – Gloucester

About the role

The school is looking for a motivated Classroom Assistant to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in Gloucester. You will work closely with the class teacher to help children engage with lessons and thrive in their daily learning experience.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the teacher in preparing and delivering inclusive lessons.
• Provide targeted one‑to‑one and small‑group support, particularly for pupils with special educational needs.
• Help maintain a safe, organised and supportive classroom environment.
• Support daily routines such as attendance, resource preparation and classroom tidying.

Required profile

• Enthusiastic and caring individual with a genuine interest in children’s education.
• Willingness to obtain or hold an enhanced DBS check.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work full‑time (8:30 am‑3:30 pm).

Required skills

• Ability to deliver effective one‑to‑one and small‑group assistance.
• Good organisational skills to support classroom logistics.
