Classroom Assistant

About the role

We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Classroom Assistant to join a welcoming school in Swindon. The role is term‑time only and offers both full‑time and part‑time options, allowing you to gain hands‑on experience supporting pupils in a dynamic classroom environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist teachers with lesson preparation and classroom organisation.
• Work with small groups or one‑to‑one to support pupils, including those needing additional help.
• Encourage pupil engagement, confidence and participation during lessons.
• Help maintain a positive, inclusive and safe learning atmosphere.
• Collaborate with teachers and other school staff to ensure smooth daily operations.

Required profile

• Positive, proactive and adaptable attitude.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Genuine interest in education and supporting young people.
• Ability to build rapport quickly with pupils and staff.
• Previous experience with children is desirable but not essential.
