About the role
We are looking for a caring and motivated Classroom Assistant to join a well‑respected mainstream primary school in Swindon. This role supports teaching staff in delivering engaging lessons for children in the Foundation Stage, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, helping them achieve their full potential.
Key responsibilities
- Assist teachers with the preparation and delivery of lessons across core and foundation subjects.
- Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support to pupils, including those with ASD, behavioural challenges or learning difficulties.
- Help create a safe, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment.
- Support the organisation of classroom resources and maintain tidy learning spaces.
- Encourage positive behaviour and foster children’s social and emotional development.
Required profile
- Patient, enthusiastic individual with a genuine interest in children’s learning.
- Recent graduate or experienced assistant seeking a new challenge.
- Willingness to work full‑time, 8:30 am‑3:30 pm, on‑site.
- Desire to develop a career in education and understand the National Curriculum.
Required skills
- Strong ability to build rapport with young learners.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic organisational abilities for classroom support.
