Classroom Assistant – Primary School (Swindon)

About the role

We are looking for a caring and motivated Classroom Assistant to join a well‑respected mainstream primary school in Swindon. This role supports teaching staff in delivering engaging lessons for children in the Foundation Stage, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, helping them achieve their full potential.

Key responsibilities

• Assist teachers with the preparation and delivery of lessons across core and foundation subjects.
• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support to pupils, including those with ASD, behavioural challenges or learning difficulties.
• Help create a safe, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment.
• Support the organisation of classroom resources and maintain tidy learning spaces.
• Encourage positive behaviour and foster children’s social and emotional development.

Required profile

• Patient, enthusiastic individual with a genuine interest in children’s learning.
• Recent graduate or experienced assistant seeking a new challenge.
• Willingness to work full‑time, 8:30 am‑3:30 pm, on‑site.
• Desire to develop a career in education and understand the National Curriculum.

Required skills

• Strong ability to build rapport with young learners.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Basic organisational abilities for classroom support.
