Clean & Clear Operative – Property Clearance & Cleaning

About the role

We are looking for a reliable Clean & Clear Operative to join our team in Blackburn. You will be responsible for preparing empty homes for new residents by carrying out property clearance, final cleaning and garden work. The role supports our housing association’s commitment to high standards of cleanliness and resident satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct property clearance, final cleans and garden work for vacant homes.
• Sort and recycle waste streams in accordance with waste‑management procedures.
• Communicate clearly with residents, taking ownership of issues to ensure high customer satisfaction.
• Follow health and safety standards, risk assessments, COSHH framework and relevant legislation.
• Perform basic checks, servicing and maintenance of cleaning and caretaking equipment.

Required profile

• Full manual UK driving licence.
• Practical experience in cleaning or caretaking.
• Experience working in a customer‑oriented environment.
• Ability to operate relevant cleaning and caretaking equipment and machinery.
• Knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act and site‑specific safety protocols.

• Basic equipment maintenance.

What we offer

• Starting salary of £25,878 per year.
• 27 days holiday (rising to 32 after 5 years) plus bank holidays.
• Flexible working hours: 37 hours per week, 7:30 am‑3:30 pm Mon‑Thu, 7:30 am‑3:00 pm Fri.
