Cleaner (Commercial/Industrial)

About the role

Dexterra Group is seeking a motivated, quality‑driven Cleaner/Housekeeper to maintain sanitary environments across its commercial and industrial sites. The role involves thorough cleaning, equipment operation, and ensuring safety standards are met.

Key responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive cleaning of assigned areas, including floors, washrooms, common spaces, offices, and entrances.
• Vacuum carpets, dry/wet mop floors, and maintain floor appearance.
• Dust visible surfaces such as countertops, pillars, lighting fixtures, window ledges, and vents.
• Wipe and polish office furniture and glass windows.
• Spot‑clean walls, partitions, light switches, and doors.
• Operate cleaning equipment safely (auto scrubber, swing machine, burnisher).
• Maintain and replenish cleaning supplies and restroom essentials.
• Empty and clean waste bins, ensuring proper disposal.
• Sanitize high‑touch areas to uphold hygiene standards.
• Report maintenance issues or safety hazards to the supervisor.
• Follow all safety protocols and cleaning standards.

Required profile

• Previous experience in commercial or industrial cleaning preferred.
• Proficiency with cleaning equipment is an asset.
• WHMIS certification or willingness to obtain training.
• Strong attention to detail and high‑quality work ethic.
• Excellent time‑management and organizational abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physical stamina to lift up to 25 lb, bend, stoop, and stand for an 8‑hour shift.
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and clear criminal background check.

Required skills

• Operation of auto scrubber, swing machine, and burnisher.
• WHMIS certification.
