Cleaner (School)

About the role

We are seeking a reliable Cleaner to maintain a safe and hygienic environment within a school setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for daily cleaning tasks, ensuring that all areas meet the high standards required for the health and safety of students and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning of classrooms, corridors, restrooms, and communal areas using appropriate methods and equipment.
• Operate and maintain cleaning machinery in line with manufacturer guidelines.
• Follow health and safety procedures, including COSHH regulations, and complete any required training.
• Report any hazards or maintenance issues to the facilities team promptly.

Required profile

• Previous experience or knowledge of school cleaning requirements.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet specific deadlines.
• Strong initiative, organisational and planning abilities.
• Effective communication skills in English and the capacity to work as part of a team.
• Flexible approach and willingness to follow instructions.

Required skills

• Cleaning methods and use of cleaning machinery.
• Understanding of health and safety requirements, including COSHH compliance.
