Cleaner Supervisor – Part‑time Temporary (London)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Cleaner Supervisor to lead a cleaning team within a busy education setting in Croydon, London (SE19). The role is part‑time, Monday‑Friday evenings, and offers a temporary week‑to‑week contract.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of cleaning staff, allocating daily duties and managing schedules.
• Monitor attendance, performance and provide training and support to new and existing team members.
• Ensure all areas—including classrooms, offices, corridors, toilets and communal spaces—are cleaned to high standards.
• Conduct regular inspections, maintain hygiene compliance and adhere to COSHH regulations.
• Report hazards, accidents and maintenance issues, and ensure safe handling of cleaning chemicals.
• Manage stock levels, reorder supplies and maintain cleaning equipment.
• Liaise with the Facilities or Site Manager, handle queries and maintain records such as attendance logs and audits.
• Provide hands‑on cleaning support and cover staff shortages when required.

Required profile

• Previous cleaning experience (essential).
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Enhanced DBS issued within the last 12 months or on the DBS Update Service.
• Understanding of health and safety practices and basic literacy and numeracy.

Required skills

• Knowledge of cleaning methods and chemicals.

What we offer

• Pay from £16.50 per hour.
• Flexible part‑time hours, Monday‑Friday 3 pm‑7 pm.
