Cleaner/Housekeeper – Edinburgh School (Permanent)

About the role

We are looking for a permanent Cleaner/Housekeeper to join our team at Firrhill High School in Edinburgh. The role is 30 hours per week, Monday‑Friday from 4 pm to 10 pm, and involves maintaining a safe, clean and compliant learning environment for staff and students.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver cleaning services in line with contractual requirements for the school.
• Control stock levels and order consumables as needed.
• Operate cleaning machinery safely following training and guidelines.
• Maintain high‑quality standards and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Uphold health and safety standards across the site.
• Support local and business zero‑carbon initiatives where appropriate.

Required profile

• Highly organised, responsible and detail‑oriented.
• Strong customer‑service attitude, friendly and approachable.
• Eager to learn and support colleagues.
• Experience handling cleaning chemicals and machinery safely.

Required skills

• Safe handling of cleaning chemicals.
