Cleaning Operative – Glasgow

About the role

Join ABM UK as a Cleaning Operative and help maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across a variety of client sites in Glasgow. You will work both independently and as part of a team, ensuring all areas are spotless and safe for occupants.

Key responsibilities

• Perform general cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting and surface wiping.
• Sanitise and restock toilets, kitchens and communal areas.
• Dispose of waste following recycling and health‑and‑safety guidelines.
• Operate and maintain cleaning equipment responsibly.
• Report any maintenance issues or hazards to supervisors promptly.
• Adhere strictly to all health and safety policies.

Required profile

• Previous cleaning experience preferred, full training provided.
• Flexible to work a 4‑on‑4‑off shift pattern (30 hours per week).
• Strong attention to detail and a solid work ethic.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Physical stamina to perform cleaning duties efficiently.
• Basic understanding of health, safety and hygiene standards.
• Reliable, punctual and good communication skills.
