Client Manager – Accountancy Firm

About the role

We are seeking a Client Manager to join a growing chartered accountancy firm in Barnstaple. You will be responsible for managing a diverse client portfolio, delivering year‑end accounts, tax compliance and a range of advisory services.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the delivery of year‑end accounts, tax returns and wider services for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
• Maintain and develop strong client relationships across varied industries and turnover ranges.
• Provide advisory and business‑service support, including project work.
• Mentor, develop and support junior team members.
• Contribute to the firm’s growth strategy and pursue a progression path toward partnership.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA, CTA or equivalent qualification.
• Significant experience within an accountancy practice, handling clients of all sizes.
• Technical expertise in accounts, tax and audit.
• Proven ability to manage a full client portfolio at a Client Manager level.
• Ambition to progress toward a director/partner role.
