Client Manager – Accountancy Practice (Hybrid)

About the role

We are partnering with a well‑established accountancy practice in Chester to recruit a Client Manager. The role is hybrid, offering a blend of office and remote work, and provides the chance to own a diverse client portfolio while acting as the primary trusted advisor.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of clients, serving as the main day‑to‑day contact.
• Review and oversee accounts, tax computations and related submissions.
• Ensure all work is delivered accurately, on time and to a high standard.
• Build strong relationships, identify value‑adding opportunities and support business growth.
• Mentor, review and support junior team members.
• Liaise with internal teams to maintain smooth workflow and meet deadlines.
• Stay up‑to‑date with relevant regulations and best practice.

Required profile

• Previous experience in client or portfolio management within an accountancy practice.
• Strong technical knowledge with confidence to review work.
• Excellent communication and a client‑focused approach.
• Proven ability to manage deadlines and multiple priorities.
• Comfortable supporting and guiding junior staff.
• Professional qualification (ACA, ACCA or equivalent) or qualified by experience.
