Client Manager – Accountancy Practice

About the role

Are you an ACA or ACCA qualified accountant ready to take the next step in your career? This role offers ownership of a varied client portfolio, close work with senior leadership, and a key part in developing clients and colleagues within a high‑performing South London accountancy practice.

Key responsibilities

• Take ownership of a diverse portfolio of owner‑managed businesses, managing client relationships from day‑to‑day to strategic discussions.
• Oversee preparation and delivery of accounts, tax and advisory work, ensuring high standards and meeting deadlines.
• Lead, support and develop members of the accounts team, fostering their growth.
• Collaborate with Directors and colleagues across the business to deliver a joined‑up service and identify business development opportunities.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualification with experience at Assistant Manager or Manager level in an accountancy practice.
• Proven experience managing a portfolio of clients, preferably owner‑managed businesses, with strong technical knowledge of accounts and general practice work.
• Confident leadership and people‑management skills, excellent communication and a proactive, commercially‑minded approach.

Required skills

• Technical accounting expertise (accounts, tax, advisory).
• Familiarity with accounting technology; knowledge of CCH is advantageous.
