Client Portfolio Lead (Compliance)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced compliance professional to lead the operational delivery of our compliance department. Based in Glasgow, you will oversee a broad portfolio of client accounts, ensuring statutory accounts are accurate, risks are managed, and client relationships are strengthened.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day compliance operations, maintaining high standards and efficiency.
• Review and sign off low‑risk statutory accounts with a focus on accuracy.
• Develop and improve processes for accounts production and review to enhance scalability.
• Act as the escalation point for technical queries and quality issues.
• Manage workflow, capacity planning, and resource allocation across multidisciplinary teams.
• Coach and develop team members, supporting skill enhancement.
• Monitor and escalate higher‑risk or complex compliance matters.
• Collaborate with client managers, tax teams, and other service lines to deliver integrated services.
• Build strong client relationships through regular insight‑driven engagement.
• Drive efficiency initiatives through technology adoption and process standardisation.
• Assist senior leadership with reporting on compliance performance, risks, and opportunities.

Required profile

• 8‑10 years of experience in compliance, accounts, or audit within a professional services environment.
• Proven leadership experience managing teams and delivering client outcomes.
• Strong knowledge of statutory accounting standards (UK GAAP, IFRS, FRS 102) and tax compliance.
• Experience reviewing and signing off low‑risk statutory accounts.
• Client‑focused mindset with excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
