Client Portfolio Manager

About the role

Our client, a mid‑tier accountancy firm in North London, is seeking a Client Portfolio Manager to support a diverse portfolio of owner‑managed businesses, SMEs and private clients. You will act as the primary point of contact, delivering high‑quality accounting, tax and advisory services while helping clients adopt cloud‑based solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of owner‑managed businesses, SMEs and private clients.
• Prepare statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships and sole traders under UK GAAP.
• Prepare corporation tax computations and returns, and review VAT returns.
• Produce bookkeeping, management accounts and cash‑flow forecasts as required.
• Build strong client relationships and respond to day‑to‑day queries.
• Liaise with clients to obtain accounting records and resolve outstanding matters.
• Support clients in using cloud accounting software and drive process improvements.
• Review and coach junior team members, ensuring quality of work.
• Collaborate with managers and partners to maintain a high standard of service.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualified (or part‑qualified/qualified by experience).
• Minimum three years’ experience in a UK accountancy practice.
• Strong experience preparing statutory accounts and corporation tax computations.
• Proven ability to manage a client portfolio and build relationships.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Required skills

• Experience with cloud accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, IRIS or CCH.
