Client Supply Chain Coordinator – Birmingham

About the role

MPJ Recruitment is partnering with a fast‑growing motor insurance business to find a Client Supply Chain Coordinator for its Birmingham office. You will support fleet operations by managing relationships with vehicle hire providers and ensuring the right vehicles are available when needed.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with vehicle hire providers, acting as the primary point of contact.
• Coordinate vehicle orders, deliveries, collections and swaps to meet operational demand.
• Monitor supplier performance, track KPIs, review service levels and resolve issues.
• Review hire charges and invoices for accuracy and identify cost‑saving opportunities.
• Support procurement activities, including contract renewals and supplier onboarding/off‑boarding.
• Track fleet utilisation, downtime and activity, escalating problems as required.
• Maintain accurate fleet records, documentation and supplier information.
• Ensure suppliers comply with insurance, licensing, safety and maintenance standards.
• Manage incident reporting for hire vehicles and keep audit‑ready records.
• Produce regular reports on performance, costs, trends and supplier activity.

Required profile

• Experience in fleet management, vehicle hire, logistics or supply‑chain coordination.
• Strong supplier‑management and negotiation abilities.
• Good understanding of vehicle hire agreements and commercial terms.
• Confidence analysing costs and identifying savings.
• Excellent organisational, communication and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple suppliers and priorities simultaneously.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and fleet‑management systems.
