Clinic and Stock Management Registered Veterinary Nurse

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse to join Mercer & Hughes Veterinary Surgeons in Saffron Walden. This newly created position blends clinical nursing with operational responsibility, allowing you to lead nurse‑led clinics while overseeing pharmacy, laboratory and consumable stock across the practice.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop nurse‑led clinics and introduce new nurse services.
• Provide exceptional client care and preventative health advice.
• Support veterinary surgeons during consultations.
• Manage pharmacy, laboratory and consumable inventory.
• Coordinate daily stock ordering with multiple suppliers.
• Maintain accurate inventory levels and ensure efficient stock control.
• Offer clinical nursing support during holidays or sickness cover.

Required profile

• Qualified Registered Veterinary Nurse with solid clinical experience.
• Strong initiative and ability to work autonomously.
• Excellent communication skills for client interaction.
• Interest in developing nurse‑led services and improving practice processes.

Required skills

• Experience in veterinary pharmacy and laboratory stock management.
• Ability to coordinate ordering and maintain inventory records.
